The Honble Mayor of Mysuru, Shri Bhyrappa hands over the first Solo Certificate to Cadet Kewin at Orient Flight Aviation Academy, Mysuru.
Mysuru, March 2016: The Honble Mayor of Mysuru, Shri BL Bhyrappa handed over the first Solo Certificate to Cadet Kewin, at a commemoration ceremony held at the Orient Flight Aviation Academy (OFAA) located inside the Mysuru Airport. The Solo Certificate is an achievement and recognition of a trainee Pilot’s ability to fly an aircraft on his own.
The Mayor handed over the Certificate of Achievement to Flight Cadet Kewin B Thomas, in the presence of the OFAA Chairman, Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese and flight Instructor, Captain Srikrishna. As part of this occasion the Mayor also had a firsthand flight experience in the trainer aircraft Cessna 172 for about 15 minutes.
Located within the Mysore Airport, Orient Flights Aviation Academy (OFAA) and is approved by Director General of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India. Operations commenced in Feb 2016 with six students.
Candidates can enroll for flight training courses at OFAA like the two year Commercial Pilots License, six months Private Pilots license or the beginners course for Student pilots license courses depending on their skill, interest and qualifications.
OFAA is a part of Orient Flight School – one of India’s oldest & Premier flying schools, and a division of Hindustan Group of Institutions and has been at the forefront of providing training and certification to flying aspirants for the past 20 years. OFAA will offer excellent hands on flight training facilities for aspiring pilots in India.
OFAA is approved by the Director General of Civil Aviation, Government of India. OFAA operates in Mysore with its sister concern Orient Flights School at Pondicherry which has been in existence since 1994 and has trained hundreds of pilots. The flight training at OFAA meets international standard in accordance with regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India. OFAA has fleet of 3 Cessna 172 aircrafts. The Fleet strength is set to increase in the near future.
